The music really does make the video! I must have shown it to 10 or 15 people today. A note from Boris about the meaning of the three songs he selected ...

"The first song talks about how the best way to determine if a new acquaintance is really a friend, you should take them the mountains with you, where everything will become clear. The second is a war song, in particular about an upcoming WWII battle in the mountains between the Germans and the Russians. The main theme is that because these are "our" mountains (i.e. Russian), they will help us. And the third song described the beauty and dangers of mountaineering. The last line in the song says that once you have reached the summit you feel jealous of all the other people who still have this amazing journey ahead of them."

Thanks for the video. Now I know I will never do Denali. I don't like heights. Fuck that shit.

A few different people who saw the video were similarly shocked by the exposure of the ridge between 16,200 feet and high camp. But as I mentioned in my TLDR 50-state review, Chicken-Out-Ridge on Borah Peak, Idaho was where I first really learned that I am not bothered by exposure. I actually look at it as being fun.

That looked like the best part!

"Royal Mail" today from the UK. :D

My tent and rope mate Richard picked this up for me in Talkeetna. Got a spot all picked out on the living room wall for it.

I would keep them in the same frame, as kind of a 'finish' piece

^^^^

I've got a little theme going on one part of the living room wall. My Dad framed up the picture of me that I have as my SP profile photo (holding the banner) ... so I have the pin on top, the framed photo underneath, and the USGS marker in a shadow box below that. I should be getting a 50-state completion plaque in the next couple of weeks (the pin was free, the plaque cost $75) that will go below the USGS marker. :)
